A Beautiful winter morning at Millennium Park

CHOCWALK DOG PARK:  This area was named for a Chesapeake Retriever ("Chocolate") who died in the fall of 2005.  His caring owner donated funds to help make the dog park a reality.  This fenced area is located in the northeast section of the park.  The closest parking (and entrance) to this area is at the end of Argyll Woods Drive, off Lannock Drive.

YOUTH BASEBALL COMPLEX:   The baseball complex, consisting of 4 youth fields, is built in a wagon-wheel design.  This design hosts play for Cal Ripken Baseball (Majors and Minors) on 2 lighted grass infields with 200' fenced fields.  The Parks and Recreation League T-Ball and Machine Pitch programs play on 2 dirt infields with 165' fields.

YOUTH FOOTBALL & SOCCER FIELDS:  The soccer complex has six youth and one adult soccer field.  The areas are used for youth flag football, Centre College intramural soccer, and Bluegrass Youth Soccer regular season and "select" programs.    The lighted youth football field, named in honor of  Edwin Kubale, Jr., hosts Parks and Recreation youth football games in the fall and youth soccer games in the spring.

WALKING TRAILS, BENCHES, LAKE:   The 3 1/2 miles of trails provide walkers, runners, and bikers ample usage of all active and passive areas of the Park.  The outer 2 mile loop of the trail system provides a leisurely 30 minute walk around the park.  Located around the trail system are benches and swings providing peaceful breaks for walkers.   Pick up maps of the individual trails at the Parks & Recreation office, 110 Man-O-War Drive.

Home to many ducks that provide fun and entertainment for the very young and the young-at-heart users of Millennium Park, the signature facility of the Park is Millennium Lake.  Fishing off the bank is an added attraction to this facility (all government regulations apply regarding fishing licenses) and the lake fountain provides a scenic backdrop to a peaceful setting for the novice or experienced angler.

PLAYGROUND AREAS :   The central Picnic/Play area of the Park is next to the Community Trust Bank Shelter and contains a variety of play equipment.  This area is for children ages 4-10 and parking/restrooms are next to the site.

The playground area next to the Baseball Complex faces Millennium Lake and is for children ages 4-10.  Parking and restrooms for this area are located in the Baseball Complex.

Another auxillary playground is located near the Football/Soccer Concession building.  Restrooms are located in the concession building, and parking is provided near the building.

SKATE PARK :  The modular skatepark, designed by Skatewave, was opened in September 2004.  It consists of quarter pipes, launch & grind boxes, mini half pipe, launch ramps, rails, tables, spines, and banks.
