YOUTH SPORTS & ACTIVITIES
Registration for Youth football is through Danville Youth Football and Boyle County Youth Football. DYF is administered by the Danville school system, and BCYF is administered by an independent volunteer board. Danville Youth Football plays their home games at Millennium Park.
Cheerleading squads cheer for recreational league teams during the basketball and football seasons. At the end of the basketball season, a cheerleading exhibition is held. Signups run concurrent with the basketball and football league program. Open to youth in grades K-6.
Youth ages 9-12 may play in Danville's Little League baseball program. The program is administered by a volunteer Board that depends on community business and industry contributions as a major source of funding. The Parks and Recreation Department assists with maintenance, registration, and umpire scheduling. Signups begin approximately February 15.
Youth ages 5-9 may play in the T-Ball or Pitching Machine Leagues. Signups begin approx. April 1st, with games beginning in early June.
The recreation league basketball program is open to youth ages 5-18, with divisions grouped by school grades. Signups begin October 1, with games beginning the first week in January. Games are played at local schools.
The girl's basketball program is open to girls ages 7-13 and is divided into two leagues. Signups begin October 1 with games beginning the first week in January. Games are played at local schools.
GIRL'S SOFTBALL and GIRLS FALL SOFTBALL
This league is open to girls ages 7-12, with divisions grouped into "staff pitch," "machine pitch," and "fast pitch." Registrations begin approximately March 30, with games beginning in early June.
The Fall league is open ages to 8-12 (Team only). Registrations begin approximately the first of August.
The modular skatepark was opened in September of 2004. It consists of quarter pipes, launch and grind boxes, mini half pipe, launch ramps, rails, tables, spines, and banks. It is located in Millennium Park and is open to the public.
